I think I've mentioned this before, that I just love to travel, and in September 2019, I was very blessed to be have the opportunity to travel to Canada and Alaska.
My journeying companions on this trip were a mixture of family and long time friends, there was seven of us, all from very different walks of life, opinions, and age groups.
The best type of people to travel with. We were happy to do things together, yet just as content to go our own way when our tastes differed.
It would take a million words to describe the wonder of traveling to another country. I sincerely recommend everyone to travel at least once out of their comfort zone, even if that means staying in your own county.
Travel is the spice of life, it broadens your understanding of other cultures, history, the natural beauty of our planet.
The thought of new adventures always enlightens my life.
By now you may be wondering why this post is headed Queen Victoria, its all in the naming.
One of the highlights of the above trip was visiting Victoria, the Capital City of Canadian British Columbia, and named after Queen Victoria.
Victoria is named the 'Garden City' for obvious reasons its parks and surrounding wilderness on land and water is stunning.
The Victoria area is known as home to several communities of Coastal Salish peoples, speaking on of the coasts the Salish language 'Nuxalk' the Salish have distinct cultures and languages.

San Francisco. We had a delightful night of lights, good food, and wine.
Later in the night we strolled around Fisherman's Wharf, where we left the next day for our whale watching experience.
We sailed down the Haro Strait into the Salish Sea. An early start to a mammoth day on the water, low clouds threating rain, and humpback whales, dolphin, seals and otters.

If in Canada, Victoria is a must see. I would have loved to stay longer. Another trip, another time.
