I've always loved travelling, and while I've travelled overseas, I've missed doing that of late, before Covid, my planned 2020 trip was time spent in Africa. Unfortunately, its back on the wish list, but not forgotten.
In saying world travel is fine... my own country Australia is a pretty schmick destination in anyone's book.
The beaches are stunning, the wildlife astounding. We have hinterland, bushland, rain forest, and deserts that stretch as far as the eye can see.
As history tells we've lost quite a few early explorers to our desert's sand depths.
There is the obvious attractions, The Great Barrier Reef, Uluru, and the Olgas, The Great Ocean Road, and, anywhere in Tasmania.
We in Australia are really interested in Great or Big.
- The Big Banana, Coffs Harbour
- The Big Potato, Robertson
- Big Merino, Goulburn, and
- The Big Prawn, Ballina.
- The Big Pineapple is in Woombye, Queensland, and
- The Big Lobster is in Robertson, South Australia.
Talking of Tasmania, and The Great Ocean Road they are best seen from the back of a bike. I've travelled both destination by bike, just amazing. The Twelve Apostles are on the Ocean Road, a must see.
The Mackenzie Fall in the Grampians, Victoria, being so dry, the intensity of the falls is a bit hit and miss, but no trouble plenty of nature to see, especially if you're camping in the area.
Of course I would be remiss if I'd not mentioned the beautiful Sydney Harbour that crowns my own state of New South Wales.
Sydney Harbour Bridge & Opera House |
Of course one of my goals is walking over the top of the Harbour Bridge, before I'm to old to climb it.
And of course my own beautiful backyard in South West Rock. I'm incredibly blessed to live here.
My late husband used to say 'We live in God's Country'
